Art Discussion - "Les coulisses du Radeau de la Méduse"

Comment Théodore Géricault transforma un naufrage morbide en un chef d’œuvre du romantisme ? Entre un fait divers tragique près des côtes africaines et un atelier parisien empli de morceaux de cadavres, explorons les coulisses du Radeau de la Méduse en voyant comment cette peinture illustre les caractéristiques du romantisme et les revendications d’un jeune peintre français du 19ème siècle.

This event iwill be conducted in French. Participants should be able to understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc at a minimum (B1 Level) up to those who can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read (C1 Level).

AFA Instructor, Blandine Nothhelfer will lead this 30-minute presentation followed by an hour discussion and group activity. Blandine earned a master’s degree in Cultural Heritage Studies and worked conceiving education programs and events for museums and arts institutions in France and Italy.
