In South France, nested between the Rhone Delta and the Mediterranean Sea, is the Far West of Provence. How did Buffalo Bill and Sioux chiefs inspire southern French cowboys? Why do gypsies from all Europe converge once a year to this place? What is this game that looks like a Spanish corrida? Come discover and discuss the story, traditions, and gastronomy of a region full of surprises: Camargue!
This event will be conducted in French and English. Participants should be able to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Participants should communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters and can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
AFA Instructor, Blandine Nothhelfer will lead this 30-minute presentation followed by an hour discussion and group activity. Blandine earned a master’s degree in Cultural Heritage Studies and worked conceiving education programs and events for museums and arts institutions in France and Italy.
