About the Partners
The Alliance Française d’Austin (AFA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting French language and culture through classes, events, and community programs. The Austin–Angers Sister Cities Committee (AASCC) fosters cultural and educational exchange between Austin and Angers, France, strengthening the friendship between our two cities. Together, AFA and AASCC are partnering to host Austin’s 2025 Beaujolais Nouveau Celebration — a festive evening of French wine, hors d’œuvres, and community. All proceeds from this event will benefit the scholarship funds of each organization.
About Beaujolais Nouveau
Every year on the third Thursday of November, France celebrates the arrival of the new vintage of Beaujolais Nouveau, a light and fruity red wine produced in the Beaujolais region near Lyon. What began as a local tradition has grown into an international celebration of French culture, marked by music, food, and community gatherings. This event is more than just a wine tasting — it is a way to honor French heritage, bring people together, and share in the joy of the season. By sponsoring our Beaujolais Nouveau celebration, you help keep this tradition alive in Austin while supporting the cultural and educational missions of our two organizations.
