At Home with the King - Part III

French kings and their royal courts were known for luxurious lifestyles. Explore the magnificence and splendor of these royal residences, from the famed Galerie François I at Fontainebleau to the vast gardens of Versailles, with art historian Jamie Kwan. Come along on a virtual tour that brings to life royal interiors, gardens, and decorative arts inspired by the art in Fantastically French! Design and Architecture in 16th-to 18th-Century Prints.


In collaboration with the Blanton’s At Home with the King virtual discussion on the Fantastically French Exhibition, AFA is pleased to be part of this 3-part event.


Part #1 - BLANTON VIRTUAL EVENT_& DEBRIEF- Attend the one-hour virtual event on Wednesday, June 15th at noon CST presented by the Blanton. You will need to REGISTER with the Blanton for this event. While the event is free, they do appreciate donations. Blandine will be attending this virtual event as well. There will be a quick 30 minute ZOOM call with Blandine after this event for a debrief in English with Blandine to discuss her document and the associated activity. Blandine will be recording her debrief of her documents as well.


Part #2 - ATTEND THE FANTASTICALLY FRENCH EXHIBIT IN-PERSON - Those participating will have between June 15th through July 1st to see the exhibition in person to find the details and themes based on the materials they received from AFA regarding the exhibition. Entry to the museum is outlined on the Blanton website. It includes their rules and regulations, as well as information regarding free admission and discounted prices.


Part #3 - AFA VIRTUAL DISCUSSION on Saturday, July 2nd from 11:00-12:30 CST with Blandine. Blandine will lead the class in discussion about their findings based on their visit and help participants further appreciate these works of the 16th to 18th centuries. The discussion will be in English.


If you want to participate in that AFA VIRTUAL DISCUSSION with Blandine and receive her materials you will need to REGISTER no later than June 13th to allow us to get the materials via email to you.


Please note, registration for the June 15th BLANTON VIRTUAL EVENT must be done on their website and attendees are responsible for their own entrance fee to the Blanton to see the exhibit.
