October Club de Lecture - Les âmes grises by Philippe Claudel

AFA Club de Lecture meets the fourth Saturday of each month at 2:00pm at the Arboretum location of La Madeleine French Café. It is recommended that participants have at least an intermediate level of French proficiency to join book discussion.  AFA members with lower levels of French are welcome to attend and listen. Book Club members supply their own books. Club de Lecture is open to current members whose names appear on the current membership list.

In October, Club de Lecture will meet to discuss Les âmes grises by Philippe Claudel.
Officials in a French town turn their focus from the ongoing horrors of World War I to solving the murder of a local girl. Framed by the desire of vengeance of the judge and his contempt for the class privileges of the district attorney, the case is set against a backdrop of death across Europe and poses deep questions about justice and humanity.
We'll discuss on October 28th! For more information about Club de Lecture and coming selections visit our website.  Club de Lecture members must be AFA members in good standing & participants are responsible for obtaining their own books.  Become an AFA member and join us for our October 28th Club de Lecture gathering.
