Festinema is an annual nationwide film festival and educational program designed for children and adolescents.  Festinema was created by the United States Alliance Française network.  The Festival is part of Kids Trail, a program initiated by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States, and by the FACE Foundation. Now in its fifth year, Festinema encourages learning and understanding of international cultures through cinema. AFA is proud to offer Festinema to connect Austin-area youth to French language and Francophone cultures.

AFS presents "VAGABOND" - FEB 15

AFA Ciné-club is proud to partner with the Austin Film Society to present four outstanding French films in February.  The second one is Vagabond, a 1986 movie directed by Agnès Varda. For this landmark of feminist filmmaking, established starlet Sandrine Bonnaire signed on to play a hopeless, itinerant youth stuck on the fringe of society. Bonnaire’s frightening performance challenged expectations of what young women could do and be as leading ladies.

Join AFA Ciné-club and the Austin Film Society at the AFS Cinema on February 15th at 7:30pm for Vagabond.  Tickets available at www.austinfilm.org.  AFA members don't forget to use the discount code distributed Feb 7th for a $2 discount on each French Film ticket purchased.  Not yet a member?  JOIN ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE to receive the French Film discount code today.
