In celebration of Le Mois de la Francophonie, Alliance Française of Austin presents FESTINEMA, a French film festival that encourages children and young adults to see foreign films and encourages active appreciation of cinema. Between March 8th and April 5th AFA will provide age-appropriate French film screenings to 200+ Austin and Central Texas students in schools around the city. Information about the 2018 Festinema program, films to be offered, and accompanying educational materials can be found HERE. If you are affiliated with a school and have interest in a Festinema-related French film screening for your students, contact Alliance Française d'Austin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Festinema is an annual nationwide film festival and educational program designed for children and adolescents. Festinema was created by the United States Alliance Française network. The Festival is part of Kids Trail, a program initiated by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States, and by the FACE Foundation. Now in its fifth year, Festinema encourages learning and understanding of international cultures through cinema. AFA is proud to offer Festinema to connect Austin-area youth to French language and Francophone cultures.
