Alliance Française of Austin is a self-financed nonprofit organization that promotes the study and appreciation of French language and Francophone cultures in Austin and surrounding areas.  Alliance Française of Austin is a chapter of the acclaimed international Alliance Française network that was founded in Paris in 1883.  There are over 800 Alliance Française chapters around the world that serve 500,000+ members and students. Every Alliance Française chapter is part of the international Alliance Française network,  a network that is recognized around the world as the leader and gold-standard in providing superb French language instruction and enriching French-themed cultural events and programs.  The mission of Alliance Française of Austin is to encourage the study and appreciation of French language and Francophone cultures, and to promote and share the language and cultures of the French-speaking world in Austin.

Alliance Française d'Austin is proud to be part of the largest international network of language and cultural centers in the world, and we are proud of serving the residents of Austin in various educational, cultural, social, and service capacities for 48 years.  Alliance Française d'Austin offers a comprehensive school program, providing French language classes for adults and children at all levels, with 1500+ registrations a year, over 40 regular group classes per week, specialty and theme classes, and an exemplary private lesson program.  Our chapter also offers our acclaimed AFCiné-club program which presents monthly French film screenings, a French Materials Library, bi-monthly Pétanque matches, monthly Conversation groups and French Book Club discussions, and socializing and networking opportunities for young professionals and college students through AFA's well-received bi-montly Réseau Jeunes Francophones meet-up.  

Membership in Alliance Française d'Austin offers the benefits of engaging with people from other cultures, the benefits of knowlege of French language and Francophone cultures, and an active social and cultural calendar.
